민수기 36:1–13 (NKRV)
1요셉 자손의 종족 중 므낫세의 손자 마길의 아들 길르앗 자손 종족들의 수령들이 나아와 모세와 이스라엘 자손의 수령 된 지휘관들 앞에 말하여
2이르되 여호와께서 우리 주에게 명령하사 이스라엘 자손에게 제비 뽑아 그 기업의 땅을 주게 하셨고 여호와께서 또 우리 주에게 명령하사 우리 형제 슬로브핫의 기업을 그의 딸들에게 주게 하셨은즉
3그들이 만일 이스라엘 자손의 다른 지파들의 남자들의 아내가 되면 그들의 기업은 우리 조상의 기업에서 떨어져 나가고 그들이 속할 그 지파의 기업에 첨가되리니 그러면 우리가 제비 뽑은 기업에서 떨어져 나갈 것이요
4이스라엘 자손의 희년을 당하여 그 기업이 그가 속한 지파에 첨가될 것이라 그런즉 그들의 기업은 우리 조상 지파의 기업에서 아주 삭감되리이다
5모세가 여호와의 말씀으로 이스라엘 자손에게 명령하여 이르되 요셉 자손 지파의 말이 옳도다
6슬로브핫의 딸들에게 대한 여호와의 명령이 이러하니라 이르시되 슬로브핫의 딸들은 마음대로 시집가려니와 오직 그 조상 지파의 종족에게로만 시집갈지니
7그리하면 이스라엘 자손의 기업이 이 지파에서 저 지파로 옮기지 않고 이스라엘 자손이 다 각기 조상 지파의 기업을 지킬 것이니라 하셨나니
8이스라엘 자손의 지파 중 그 기업을 이은 딸들은 모두 자기 조상 지파의 종족되는 사람의 아내가 될 것이라 그리하면 이스라엘 자손이 각기 조상의 기업을 보전하게 되어
9그 기업이 이 지파에서 저 지파로 옮기게 하지 아니하고 이스라엘 자손 지파가 각각 자기 기업을 지키리라
10슬로브핫의 딸들이 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 행하니라
11슬로브핫의 딸 말라와 디르사와 호글라와 밀가와 노아가 다 그들의 숙부의 아들들의 아내가 되니라
12그들이 요셉의 아들 므낫세 자손의 종족 사람의 아내가 되었으므로 그들의 종족 지파에 그들의 기업이 남아 있었더라
13이는 여리고 맞은편 요단 가 모압 평지에서 여호와께서 모세를 통하여 이스라엘 자손에게 명령하신 계명과 규례니라
민수기 36:1–13 (ESV)
1The heads of the fathers’ houses of the clan of the people of Gilead the son of Machir, son of Manasseh, from the clans of the people of Joseph, came near and spoke before Moses and before the chiefs, the heads of the fathers’ houses of the people of Israel.
2They said, “The Lord commanded my lord to give the land for inheritance by lot to the people of Israel, and my lord was commanded by the Lord to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.
3But if they are married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the people of Israel, then their inheritance will be taken from the inheritance of our fathers and added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they marry. So it will be taken away from the lot of our inheritance.
4And when the jubilee of the people of Israel comes, then their inheritance will be added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they marry, and their inheritance will be taken from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.”
5And Moses commanded the people of Israel according to the word of the Lord, saying, “The tribe of the people of Joseph is right.
6This is what the Lord commands concerning the daughters of Zelophehad: ‘Let them marry whom they think best, only they shall marry within the clan of the tribe of their father.
7The inheritance of the people of Israel shall not be transferred from one tribe to another, for every one of the people of Israel shall hold on to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.
8And every daughter who possesses an inheritance in any tribe of the people of Israel shall be wife to one of the clan of the tribe of her father, so that every one of the people of Israel may possess the inheritance of his fathers.
9So no inheritance shall be transferred from one tribe to another, for each of the tribes of the people of Israel shall hold on to its own inheritance.’ ”
10The daughters of Zelophehad did as the Lord commanded Moses,
11for Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married to sons of their father’s brothers.
12They were married into the clans of the people of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of their father’s clan.
13These are the commandments and the rules that the Lord commanded through Moses to the people of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.
