열왕기상 4:1–34 (NKRV)
1솔로몬 왕이 온 이스라엘의 왕이 되었고
2그의 신하들은 이러하니라 사독의 아들 아사리아는 제사장이요
3시사의 아들 엘리호렙과 아히야는 서기관이요 아힐룻의 아들 여호사밧은 사관이요
4여호야다의 아들 브나야는 군사령관이요 사독과 아비아달은 제사장이요
5나단의 아들 아사리아는 지방 관장의 두령이요 나단의 아들 사붓은 제사장이니 왕의 벗이요
6아히살은 궁내대신이요 압다의 아들 아도니람은 노동 감독관이더라
7솔로몬이 또 온 이스라엘에 열두 지방 관장을 두매 그 사람들이 왕과 왕실을 위하여 양식을 공급하되 각기 일 년에 한 달씩 양식을 공급하였으니
8그들의 이름은 이러하니라 에브라임 산지에는 벤훌이요
9마가스와 사알빔과 벧세메스와 엘론벧하난에는 벤데겔이요
10아룹봇에는 벤헤셋이니 소고와 헤벨 온 땅을 그가 주관하였으며
11나밧 돌 높은 땅 온 지방에는 벤아비나답이니 그는 솔로몬의 딸 다밧을 아내로 삼았으며
12다아낙과 므깃도와 이스르엘 아래 사르단 가에 있는 벧스안 온 땅은 아힐룻의 아들 바아나가 맡았으니 벧스안에서부터 아벨므홀라에 이르고 욕느암 바깥까지 미쳤으며
13길르앗 라못에는 벤게벨이니 그는 길르앗에 있는 므낫세의 아들 야일의 모든 마을을 주관하였고 또 바산 아르곱 땅의 성벽과 놋빗장 있는 육십 개의 큰 성읍을 주관하였으며
14마하나임에는 잇도의 아들 아히나답이요
15납달리에는 아히마아스이니 그는 솔로몬의 딸 바스맛을 아내로 삼았으며
16아셀과 아롯에는 후새의 아들 바아나요
17잇사갈에는 바루아의 아들 여호사밧이요
18베냐민에는 엘라의 아들 시므이요
19아모리 사람의 왕 시혼과 바산 왕 옥의 나라 길르앗 땅에는 우리의 아들 게벨이니 그 땅에서는 그 한 사람만 지방 관장이 되었더라
20유다와 이스라엘의 인구가 바닷가의 모래 같이 많게 되매 먹고 마시며 즐거워하였으며
21솔로몬이 그 강에서부터 블레셋 사람의 땅에 이르기까지와 애굽 지경에 미치기까지의 모든 나라를 다스리므로 솔로몬이 사는 동안에 그 나라들이 조공을 바쳐 섬겼더라
22솔로몬의 하루의 음식물은 가는 밀가루가 삼십 고르요 굵은 밀가루가 육십 고르요
23살진 소가 열 마리요 초장의 소가 스무 마리요 양이 백 마리이며 그 외에 수사슴과 노루와 암사슴과 살진 새들이었더라
24솔로몬이 그 강 건너편을 딥사에서부터 가사까지 모두, 그 강 건너편의 왕을 모두 다스리므로 그가 사방에 둘린 민족과 평화를 누렸으니
25솔로몬이 사는 동안에 유다와 이스라엘이 단에서부터 브엘세바에 이르기까지 각기 포도나무 아래와 무화과나무 아래에서 평안히 살았더라
26솔로몬의 병거의 말 외양간이 사만이요 마병이 만 이천 명이며
27그 지방 관장들은 각각 자기가 맡은 달에 솔로몬 왕과 왕의 상에 참여하는 모든 자를 위하여 먹을 것을 공급하여 부족함이 없게 하였으며
28또 그들이 각기 직무를 따라 말과 준마에게 먹일 보리와 꼴을 그 말들이 있는 곳으로 가져왔더라
29하나님이 솔로몬에게 지혜와 총명을 심히 많이 주시고 또 넓은 마음을 주시되 바닷가의 모래 같이 하시니
30솔로몬의 지혜가 동쪽 모든 사람의 지혜와 애굽의 모든 지혜보다 뛰어난지라
31그는 모든 사람보다 지혜로워서 예스라 사람 에단과 마홀의 아들 헤만과 갈골과 다르다보다 나으므로 그의 이름이 사방 모든 나라에 들렸더라
32그가 잠언 삼천 가지를 말하였고 그의 노래는 천다섯 편이며
33그가 또 초목에 대하여 말하되 레바논의 백향목으로부터 담에 나는 우슬초까지 하고 그가 또 짐승과 새와 기어다니는 것과 물고기에 대하여 말한지라
34사람들이 솔로몬의 지혜를 들으러 왔으니 이는 그의 지혜의 소문을 들은 천하 모든 왕들이 보낸 자들이더라

1King Solomon was king over all Israel,
2and these were his high officials: Azariah the son of Zadok was the priest;
3Elihoreph and Ahijah the sons of Shisha were secretaries; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;
4Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was in command of the army; Zadok and Abiathar were priests;
5Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers; Zabud the son of Nathan was priest and king’s friend;
6Ahishar was in charge of the palace; and Adoniram the son of Abda was in charge of the forced labor.
7Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, who provided food for the king and his household. Each man had to make provision for one month in the year.
8These were their names: Ben-hur, in the hill country of Ephraim;
9Ben-deker, in Makaz, Shaalbim, Beth-shemesh, and Elonbeth-hanan;
10Ben-hesed, in Arubboth (to him belonged Socoh and all the land of Hepher);
11Ben-abinadab, in all Naphath-dor (he had Taphath the daughter of Solomon as his wife);
12Baana the son of Ahilud, in Taanach, Megiddo, and all Beth-shean that is beside Zarethan below Jezreel, and from Beth-shean to Abel-meholah, as far as the other side of Jokmeam;
13Ben-geber, in Ramoth-gilead (he had the villages of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead, and he had the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, sixty great cities with walls and bronze bars);
14Ahinadab the son of Iddo, in Mahanaim;
15Ahimaaz, in Naphtali (he had taken Basemath the daughter of Solomon as his wife);
16Baana the son of Hushai, in Asher and Bealoth;
17Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar;
18Shimei the son of Ela, in Benjamin;
19Geber the son of Uri, in the land of Gilead, the country of Sihon king of the Amorites and of Og king of Bashan. And there was one governor who was over the land.
20Judah and Israel were as many as the sand by the sea. They ate and drank and were happy.
21Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates to the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt. They brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.
22Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty cors of fine flour and sixty cors of meal,
23ten fat oxen, and twenty pasture-fed cattle, a hundred sheep, besides deer, gazelles, roebucks, and fattened fowl.
24For he had dominion over all the region west of the Euphrates from Tiphsah to Gaza, over all the kings west of the Euphrates. And he had peace on all sides around him.
25And Judah and Israel lived in safety, from Dan even to Beersheba, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, all the days of Solomon.
26Solomon also had 40,000 stalls of horses for his chariots, and 12,000 horsemen.
27And those officers supplied provisions for King Solomon, and for all who came to King Solomon’s table, each one in his month. They let nothing be lacking.
28Barley also and straw for the horses and swift steeds they brought to the place where it was required, each according to his duty.
29And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding beyond measure, and breadth of mind like the sand on the seashore,
30so that Solomon’s wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the people of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt.
31For he was wiser than all other men, wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol, and his fame was in all the surrounding nations.
32He also spoke 3,000 proverbs, and his songs were 1,005.
33He spoke of trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon to the hyssop that grows out of the wall. He spoke also of beasts, and of birds, and of reptiles, and of fish.
34And people of all nations came to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and from all the kings of the earth, who had heard of his wisdom.
